San Francisco Conservation Committee

Golden Gate Audubon's San Francisco Conservation Committee carries out a variety of habitat restoration and advocacy projects in the city. Current projects include:

• Restoring quail habitat at Harding Park and the Presidio
• Implementing the Save the Quail campaign
• Restoring degraded wetlands along San Francisco's southern waterfront, including Pier 94 and the Yosemite Creek watershed
• Protecting bird populations at Lake Merced and Fort Funston
• Working with city agencies to ensure that wildlife areas are properly managed
• Working with communities along the southern waterfront to create a park in the Bayview that incorporates wildlife habitat and recreational opportunities
• Educating San Francisco residents and agencies about the importance of wildlife in the city and designing programs to engage people in protecting them

The committee meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Randall Museum, 199 Museum Way, San Francisco. Join us!
